About Alora Cozzi

Alora Cozzi is on the Lr³ Executive Board and acts as the Wilderness Safety & Wellness Advisor for Lighthouse Reef Research Repository (Lr³), where she integrates her background in clinical psychology, wilderness medicine, and functional health to support human resilience in some of the planet’s most remote and beautiful environments.

Foundations in Discipline & Empathy

A gymnast for 16 years, Alora cultivated intense discipline, focus, and mental resilience from a young age—skills that would later support her in both leadership and caregiving roles. Known for her social ease and energy, she naturally stepped into leadership as a gymnastics coach, where she discovered her knack for guiding teams and creating supportive environments.

Alora pursued her academic path at Colorado State University, earning a degree in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a minor in American Sign Language. In 2019, she served as president of CSU’s ASL Club, where she fostered inclusion, communication, and community.

Wilderness Medicine & the Outdoors

In July 2022, Alora took a leap outside her comfort zone and completed her first backpacking expedition with NOLS, earning her Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification. What began as a reluctant adventure turned into a lifelong passion for the outdoors. A year later, she returned to NOLS to earn her Wilderness EMT certification, finding herself deeply engaged by the hands-on, high-stakes world of remote medicine.

Since then, Alora has hiked and backpacked across the nation, combining her love for nature with a purpose-driven commitment to emergency care and human health.

Career in Functional Health

In 2024, Alora began working as a base EMT at a progressive health clinic focused on IV therapy and nutrient-based wellness. Her combination of technical skill and emotional intelligence led to two promotions in under a year—she now serves as Assistant Clinic Director, where she leads IV techs, manages operations, and continuously refines her leadership approach.

Her psychology training enhances her work, allowing her to offer not just care, but true compassion—meeting people where they are with kindness, clarity, and calm under pressure.

Lighthouse Reef Research Repository (Lr³)

At Lr³, Alora plays a vital role in expedition safety, wellness planning, and trauma response preparedness. She ensures that citizen scientists and researchers remain healthy and confident in a demanding field setting. Her unique blend of medical knowledge, mental health awareness, and wilderness savvy is essential to Lr³’s success in hosting multi-day field initiatives in the wild.

Personal Life & Philosophy

Alora was married at Lr³ in 2024, a celebration that captured her love for nature, adventure, and connection. She now shares life with her husband, two feisty cats, and a close-knit circle of friends and family. When she’s not leading teams or administering care, you’ll find her running trails, backpacking in the high country, playing card games, or simply people-watching with a coffee in hand.

Alora is committed to becoming the best version of herself—always learning, always growing, and always bringing others along for the ride.
